Dermal Fillers Marlow – (Juvederm Ultra®, Juvederm Vycross™, Belotero and Aliaxin)

What exactly is this treatment?

Dermal fillers are used to replace volume in areas where, as we age and the production of collagen and elastin in our body reduces, the skin has lost its fullness and elasticity – areas like the cheeks, as well as the lips.  Dermal Fillers can also help to soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles, making them a popular and effective way of treating nose to mouth grooves, lipstick lines etc., without affecting movement in the face.

How do I know if this treatment is safe and right for me?

dermal-fillers-1At Appearance Based Medicine Ltd., Clare McLoughlin RGN INP will only carry out any non-surgical aesthetic procedure (including the administration of Dermal Fillers) following a detailed one-to-one consultation with a patient, enabling her to accurately assess whether a treatment is appropriate given a patient’s unique medical history, skin condition and expectations.

During your consultation, you will be given comprehensive information about the procedure, potential side effects, and any pre- and post-treatment advice. You will also be given the time to decide whether or not, given the information you have received, you would like to proceed with any recommended procedure.

As with any injectable aesthetic treatment, there is a small risk of a patient experiencing side effects post-treatment with Dermal Fillers. Many patients experience minor bleeding at the injection site, often followed by temporary and minor swelling, bruising, redness and soreness of the treatment site. However, these symptoms are usually not serious and should resolve on their own. Clare McLoughlin RGN INP will ensure that you are given comprehensive advice and support post-treatment to ensure that your treatment is as safe and effective as possible.

How does this treatment work?

As we age, our skin loses both collagen and elastin, key components that provide youthful support and definition to overall facial structure. A Dermal Filler treatment can help to replace lost volume and redefine the shape of the face, with the natural suppleness and skin tone restored! It can do this as many Dermal Fillers contain Hyaluronic Acid – a naturally occurring substance – that helps the skin to retain moisture more effectively and create a ‘cushion’ to add volume and definition to ageing skin.

What happens during the treatment?

All Dermal Filler Injections are administered by Clare McLoughlin RGN INP, our skilled and experienced Aesthetic Nurse Prescriber.  Injections are administered using a very fine, disposable needle, and the procedure usually takes around 45 minutes to complete.

The results from a Dermal Filler treatment are instant and normally last 4-12 months depending on the area treated and type of filler used.

Which areas of the body can be safely treated with dermal fillers?

Popular areas for treatment include:

  • Nose to mouth grooves (marionette lines)
  • Lipstick lines
  • Jaw line (to soften the contours of the area)
  • Lips (to add volume and definition)
  • Uneven Lip-line
  • ‘Sunken’ cheeks
  • ‘Sagging’ of the cheeks or jowls caused by loss of volume and gravity
  • The bridge of the nose can be softened/reshaped using Dermal Fillers.
  • Bony hands can be softened and augmented using Dermal Fillers.

Which Brands of dermal filler do you use?

We use Juvederm Ultra®, Juvederm Vycross™, Belotero® and Aliaxin. They are considered to be the safest and most advanced fillers on the market today. These products are extensively tested and require no skin test before treatment.
