| Appearance Based Medicine has become the first Clinic in the UK to be officially accredited as safe and qualified to carry out non-surgical cosmetic treatments by Save Face. We are an independent clinic and so it was refreshing to have Save Face working with us to ensure our policies and procedures are up to the highest standards. They want to raise standards across the industry and work hard to help clinics achieve it. Save Face is a new, independent and impartial organisation, which launched in June to give qualified non-invasive cosmetic treatment practitioners a way to distinguish themselves from the industry’s cowboys and to protect patients by offering a register of experienced practitioners – as part of the accreditation process, we’ve been visited and assessed for professionalism, qualifications and safety for the first time.
Save Face is filling a huge gap in the non-invasive cosmetic treatment market. For years, the industry has desperately needed some form of regulation and guidance. For the first time, every single practitioner will be visited and interviewed by an assessor and their premises will be inspected to ensure both are fit for purpose before they are accredited to the Save Face register. The register will soon be available online to the public, so that they can find a safe and accredited practitioner in their local area so it helps us to distinguish ourselves from the cowboys that blight our industry and make a positive step forward in improving the reputation of the non-surgical cosmetic treatment sector as a whole by giving patients a new-found confidence.
We are very proud to be the first clinic to be accredited. I know that many more have already followed our example and that’s a very positive move for the industry.
