Tear Trough Dermal Fillers

What exactly is Tear Trough Dermal Filler treatment?

Tear Trough Filler treatments, using Dermal Fillers, are a relatively new treatment used to improve the appearance of dark circles or dark hollows underneath the eyes which appear in some. These features can be caused by a weakening of the orbital septum (a membrane under the skin) and a loss of soft tissue in the cheek area. These features can also lead to the appearance of lower eyelid fat pockets if fat herniates through the membrane. By injecting a Dermal Filler into the deep part of the tear trough, volume can be replaced and the appearance of these deep circles or hollows can be visibly reduced, leaving you looking fresh-faced.

Why should I have Tear Trough Dermal Fillers?

If you suffer from dark shadows or hollows under the eyes (also known as ‘tear trough defects’), Tear Trough Filler treatments using Dermal Fillers could be an effective treatment for you. The procedure involves a Dermal Filler product being injected into the deep part of the tear trough, which works to ‘plump out’ the hollow underneath the eyes, making this area appear flatter and smoother.

How do I know if this treatment is safe and right for me?

At Appearance Based Medicine Ltd., Clare McLoughlin RGN INP will only carry out a non-surgical aesthetic procedure (including the administration of Dermal Fillers) following a detailed one-to-one consultation with you, enabling her to accurately assess whether a treatment is appropriate given your unique medical history, skin condition and expectations.

Appearance Based Medicine - Why should I have Tear Trough Dermal Filler

During your consultation, you’ll be given all the information about the procedure, potential side effects, and any pre- and post-treatment advice. You’ll have as much time as you need to decide whether or not, given the information you’ve received, you would like to go ahead with any recommended procedure. There’s never any obligation for you to continue.

As with any injectable aesthetic treatment, there is a small risk of a patient experiencing side effects post-treatment with Dermal Fillers. Many patients experience minor bleeding at the injection site, often followed by temporary and minor swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness at the treatment site. However, these symptoms are usually not serious and should resolve on their own. Clare McLoughlin RGN INP will give you comprehensive advice and support post-treatment to ensure that your treatment is as safe and effective as possible.
