Ageing skin, in itself, is caused by this decrease in collagen and elastin, as these are what provide your skin with the structural strength and elasticity it needs to remain looking its best.
Skin ageing is an inevitable process that many people around the world have come to dread. Usually, it is characterised by the appearance or increased prominence of fine lines, wrinkles and changes in pigmentation, such as solar lentigo, a hyperpigmentation disorder that is commonly associated with ageing.
The ageing process is also paired with a loss of collagen and elastin in our skin. These two proteins cause our skin to remain healthy and youthful. Although we may be unable to stop the ageing process, advances in aesthetics have allowed us to treat ageing skin more effectively than ever before.

Ageing skin is caused by the numerous changes that happen to our body as we age. Many people believe that they are safe from this process until their later years, however, some people find that their collagen and elastin levels start to decrease as early as in their twenties.
Ageing skin, in itself, is caused by this decrease in collagen and elastin, as these are what provide your skin with the structural strength and elasticity it needs to remain looking its best. However, it is also important that you lead a healthy lifestyle in order to prevent these changes happening prematurely. Things such as the environment you live in, your exposure to UV rays, diet, exercise and sleep routine as well as the skincare products you use can all influence how your skin ages.
Everyone’s skin ages in a different way and at a different pace – therefore there is no one treatment that we can recommend for you.
One of the most common characteristics of ageing skin is hyperpigmentation, a common and usually harmless condition which results in patches of your skin becoming darker than others. The pigmentation, or tone, of your skin is influenced by a substance called melanin. As you age, the production of this substance can increase, causing the darkening of your skin. Hormonal influences and extended exposure to the sun and UV rays can also speed up this process. If you suffer from hyperpigmentation then we would recommend one of our Peels, such as our Perfect Peel, or a range of other medical-grade skincare products.
If you find that your skin is more susceptible to fine lines and wrinkles as you age, primarily due to a lack of collagen, then our Profhilo® treatment is likely to be the treatment you have been looking for. Profhilo® is an injectable treatment that stimulates the body’s production of collagen and elastin, helping people achieve healthier, more youthful skin.
ENDYMED Intensif is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that brings together radiofrequency technology and microneedling. By combining these two proven skin ageing treatments, ENDYMED Intensif offers a remarkable solution to lax skin, uneven tone and texture and deep wrinkles.

As with all non-surgical aesthetic procedures, there is always going to be a chance that a patient will experience some side effects following treatment. However, almost all of our patients who have joined us for treatment to help combat their ageing skin find that they experience little to no side effects or downtime.
There is no need to worry about your suitability, as before any procedure we ask that our patients join us for an initial consultation so we can assess their medical history and determine if they are suitable for treatment.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding then it is unlikely that you will be able to join us for treatment.
The amount of downtime required is dependent on the treatment of your choice. If downtime is required, or certain post-treatment advice is recommended, then everything will be discussed with you during your consultation.
