Injectable Treatments In Marlow

May 25, 2021

Injectable treatments are synonymous with the world of aesthetics and are among the most popular forms of treatment that practitioners provide. In fact, before COVID-19 brought with it a dramatic decrease in the number of cosmetic procedures performed in the UK, Botox® (Botulinum toxin) injections and Dermal Fillers accounted for 90% of all non-surgical treatments delivered to UK patients.

With the country opening back up again, I expect demand for injectable treatments to reach pre-pandemic heights, as a result of both limited access to clinics during lockdown and a surge in what has become known as “Zoom Face”

Before I expand on what I offer in the way of injectables, however, I must first stress the importance of booking in with a trusted practitioner or a reputable clinic. The recent passing of the Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021 may have done much to protect young people from harm, but adults interested in cosmetic procedures should still exercise caution when deciding on the person they wish to carry out these treatments.

Appearance Based Medicine - Tear Trough filler treatments

How I Work

Fortunately, you will have no such reservations when choosing Appearance Based Medicine. As the owner of a Save Face clinic, I am committed to providing exceptional patient care at all times. I always strive to maintain high standards of practice and ensure that I am fully up to date with all necessary training requirements.

Whether you’re a new or existing patient, your safety is my top priority.

I have decades’ worth of experience in medical aesthetics and will only ever recommend a treatment if I believe that this will help you achieve your intended outcomes. Over the years, I have been trusted by many patients to carry out injectable treatments, including Botox®, Dermal Fillers and Profhilo®, as a means of tackling the signs of ageing, revitalising the appearance and restoring the skin to its optimum condition.

Before booking in for an appointment at my Marlow clinic, I must ask that you join me for a thorough consultation. This will enable me to assess the condition of your skin and explore your medical history before I formulate a bespoke treatment plan based on my findings.

Botox®

Botox® is a common form of injectable used in the management of fine lines and wrinkles. When injected into the target area, it blocks the flow of chemical messages sent from the body’s nerves to the facial muscles. This causes the muscles to remain in a fixed state for a set period (usually no more than 12 weeks). With muscle movement limited, the creation of new lines and wrinkles becomes impossible.

It should be noted that Botox® injections don’t tend to be effective against deep wrinkles or those that are present without facial movement. Additionally, as my focus is helping you to enjoy a natural enhancement to your existing beauty, you can be assured that you will not come away with a “frozen”, unnatural or abnormal look.

Common areas of Botox® treatment include the forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet – the wrinkles that appear at the corners of the eyes. It can also be used to relieve the symptoms of teeth grinding, migraines and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

Dermal Fillers

Although sometimes confused with Botox®, Dermal Fillers are injectables used to restore lost volume to ageing parts of the skin found around the face.

At Appearance Based Medicine, I am proud to use Dermal Fillers that feature hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that helps the skin to retain moisture and provides structure and definition to areas that have begun to sag or thin over time.

Because ageing is inevitable, thanks in no small part to the gradual depletion of our collagen and elastin supplies, many of my patients choose Dermal Fillers to address sunken cheeks, tear troughs, nasolabial folds, marionette lines and a large selection of other age-related issues.

As before, those who wish to book in for Dermal Filler treatment will need to undergo a consultation either via Telehealth or in person at my clinic in Marlow.

Profhilo®

An alternative to the injectables mentioned above, Profhilo® is a skin remodelling treatment that works by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. Like Dermal Fillers, Profhilo® exploits the powerful hydrating properties of hyaluronic acid to improve the texture, tone and overall radiance of the skin, all in the space of a fifteen-minute procedure.

Profhilo® patients are also entitled to complimentary Dermalux® LED Light Therapy, a treatment that I feel helps to settle the skin after injection and can also stimulate collagen production in its own right.
