My Philosophy
At Appearance Based Medicine, I provide my patients with bespoke, non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments designed to revitalise and re-energise faces and bodies that may have begun to display the distressing signs of ageing. Equal focus is given to those dealing with chronic issues such as acne and rosacea.
Treatment always takes place following an exhaustive consultation in which I will assess the condition of your skin and put together a treatment plan that is completely unique to you. I will then evaluate your results at every stage of your journey, only ever advising products or procedures that will be beneficial to you and your desired outcomes.
My Treatments
Appearance Based Medicine offers an extensive treatment menu featuring procedures that can combat the appearance of ageing, restore facial symmetry and target several common skin conditions.
In terms of what I can provide in the way of skin rejuvenation, there are three treatments that immediately spring to mind: Skin Needling, Profhilo® and EnerPeel® Chemical Peels.
- Skin Needling – In this process, the DermaFNS Pen® – a multi-needled device – is moved carefully over the skin to cause intentional damage to the dermis, the skin’s middle layer. This is done to trigger the body’s natural repair processes, with fresh supplies of collagen reducing the visibility of fine lines, wrinkles and scars over time. Treatment is safe, effective and promises little to no downtime – perfect for those who prefer their skin rejuvenation treatments to be more discreet than immediately noticeable.
- Profhilo® – Profhilo® is an injectable bio-remodelling treatment used to rehydrate and refresh wrinkled, dull-looking skin. When administered to specific regions of the face and neck, it stimulates collagen and elastin production in these areas as a means of enhancing skin quality.
Like many Dermal Fillers, Profhilo® contains hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance unparalleled in its ability to moisten and firm the skin. It can be used to make the skin look and feel softer and healthier, with its restorative effects lasting for up to 6 months. After such time, maintenance treatments will be required.
- EnerPeel® – Chemical Peels with a difference, EnerPeel® procedures are notable for the smooth delivery of condition-combatting ingredients deep into the skin without causing surface trauma or leading to irritation. Although each one of these five peels can be used to address a specific skin concern, they all feature MSM, a substance with calming properties that guarantees hassle-free healing.
At Appearance Based Medicine, the EnerPeel® Salicylic Acid (SA) and the EnerPeel® Mandelic Acid (MA) are amongst my most popular treatments and, like everything else, can be tailored to your individual requirements.
