Cosmetic injectables that can restore volume to the face, plump up sagging skin, smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, and enhance facial features, resulting in a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
Dermal Fillers are used to replace volume in areas where the skin has lost its fullness and elasticity. This happens naturally over time, due to the ageing process and the body’s reduced production of collagen and elastin. Dermal Fillers can be used in places such as the cheeks and the lips and will also help to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This makes them a popular and effective way of treating nasolabial folds, lipstick lines and more, without affecting movement in your face.
With age, our skin gradually diminishes in collagen and elastin, essential elements that contribute to the youthful support and definition of the face’s overall architecture. A treatment with Dermal Fillers can assist in replenishing lost volume and reshaping the facial contours, bringing back natural suppleness and the texture of the skin.
The majority of Dermal Fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally that aids in the skin’s moisture retention and provides a ‘pillow-like’ effect, enhancing volume and definition to mature skin.

As we age, our skin loses both collagen and elastin. These are key components that provide youthful support and definition to the overall facial structure. A Dermal Filler treatment can help to replace lost volume and redefine the shape of the face, with natural suppleness and skin tone restored.
Most Dermal Fillers contain hyaluronic acid. This is a naturally occurring substance that helps the skin to retain moisture more effectively and creates a ‘cushion’ to add volume and definition to ageing skin.
All Dermal Filler injections are administered by Clare McLoughlin RGN INP, our skilled and experienced Aesthetic Nurse Prescriber. Injections are administered using a very fine, disposable needle or a cannula (a blunt-ended needle). The procedure usually takes around 45 minutes to complete. The results from a Dermal Filler treatment are instant and normally last four to twelve months, depending on the area treated and type of filler used.
We use Aliaxin, from the makers of Profhilo®, Belotero® and Juvederm® Ultra. They are considered to be the safest and most advanced fillers on the market today. These products are extensively tested and require no skin test before treatment. You’re welcome to contact us for more information about Dermal Fillers Marlow.
The 8-Point Non-Surgical Facelift is a specialised procedure involving Dermal Fillers to produce an all-over facial lift and rejuvenation. Using an advanced technique, specific areas of the face are targeted to restore volume and aid contouring. This results in a refreshed and natural lift. For more information on this treatment, visit our 8-Point Non-Surgical Facelift page.
The treatment takes about an hour and you can leave the clinic with minimal side effects and an immediate result. As no downtime is needed, this procedure is suitable if you don’t want or don’t have time for surgery. Results can last for up to 18 months and by combining this treatment with other non-surgical solutions, you can slow down the ageing process significantly.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar chain molecule found in all skin and soft tissues throughout our body. It attracts and binds water in the skin, providing volume and hydration, but also ‘cushioning’ and supporting collagen and elastin fibres and providing a carrier, for chemical messages between the cells.
Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are a clear sterile gel for injection into the skin providing instant correction.
Dermal fillers are manufactured, usually through fermentation and cross linking with proteins to produce a clear, sterile gel for injection into the skin. In the UK, there are over 160 brands on the market due in some part to weak regulation.
Not all hyaluronic acids are the same and legitimate brands are NOT available for general sale on the internet and should only be administered by trained clinicians. Each brand has a range of ‘tissue tailored’ products designed for specific results. One size does not fit all.

At Appearance Based Medicine Ltd., Clare McLoughlin RGN INP will only carry out a non-surgical aesthetic procedure, including the administration of Dermal Fillers, after you have completed a holistic medical assessment and had a physical examination and consultation with her. These will enable her to accurately assess whether a treatment is appropriate, based on your unique medical history, skin condition and expectations.
As part of your virtual consultation, you’ll be given comprehensive information about the procedure, its potential side effects and any pre- and post-treatment advice. You’ll also have the time to decide whether you would like to proceed with the recommended procedure, based on the information you’ve received. Once you have decided on this, you will be able to make your booking during this consultation.
As with any injectable aesthetic treatment, there’s a small risk of a patient experiencing post-treatment side effects after the administration of Dermal Fillers. Some patients may experience bleeding at the injection site, which may be followed by temporary and minor swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness. However, these symptoms are usually not serious and should resolve on their own. Clare McLoughlin RGN INP will, of course, give you her professional advice and support post-treatment to ensure your treatment is as safe and effective as possible.
