What exactly is Jawline Contouring?

Our skin loses both collagen and elastin with age. As these are both vital to providing definition to your overall facial structure, this can cause you to lose volume in your jawline and chin, among other areas. Dermal filler treatments can replace volume and smooth the contours of your jawline. At Appearance Based Medicine, Clare McLoughlin RGN INP uses only the safest and most advanced dermal fillers on the market.

Our trusted brands are Aliaxin, Juvéderm and Belotero, which boast varying properties and offer better results depending on their application and your expectations. Which one is right for you and your needs will be determined during your consultation.

How does Contouring work?

Following an in-depth consultation, a predetermined amount of filler is injected into your skin with a cannula with great precision to plump your skin and add both volume and definition to your jawline. This is a quick and relatively pain-free procedure that can be incorporated into your daily routine without the need for significant downtime or recovery.

What happens during the treatment?

All dermal filler injections are administered by Clare McLoughlin RGN INP, our skilled and experienced Aesthetic Nurse Prescriber. The procedure usually takes around 45 minutes to complete and the results of a dermal filler treatment are instant and can last for up to 12 months.

How do I know if Jawline Contouring is safe and right for me?

At Appearance Based Medicine Ltd., Clare McLoughlin RGN INP will only carry out a jawline contouring treatment following a thorough one-to-one consultation with you, which will enable her to accurately assess whether the treatment is appropriate given your unique medical history, skin condition and expectations.

At this point, if Clare feels that a treatment won’t give you the desired results, or is not required, she’ll let you know. During your consultation, you’ll be given detailed information about the procedure, potential side effects and any pre and post-treatment advice. You’ll have plenty of time to decide whether or not to go ahead given the information you have received.

As with any injectable aesthetic treatment, there’s a small risk of any patient experiencing side effects post-treatment. It is possible to experience temporary and minor swelling, bruising, redness and soreness. However, these symptoms are usually not serious and should resolve on their own. You will be given comprehensive advice and support to ensure that your treatment is as safe and effective as possible.
